Grand Ages – Medieval : teaser et screenshots

Quand Grand Ages – Rome était sorti en 2009, il avait été évoqué le début d’une nouvelle série, qui, sauf erreur de ma part, aurait pu s’étendre vers la Grèce antique. Mais après une extension le jeu est malheureusement relativement vite tombé dans l’oubli. Toutefois la série revient aujourd’hui sur le devant de la scène avec un second volet changeant radicalement d’horizon. Et au passage de développeurs. En effet ce futur Grand Ages Medieval sera réalisé par Gaming Mind Studios (Rise of Venice, Port Royale 3 – Pirates and Merchants, Patrician IV) qui proposera ici de se bâtir un empire dans l’Europe de la fin du haut Moyen-âge, c’est à dire à partir de 1050 A.D.

Le moteur de jeu devrait avoir nettement évolué (si ce n’est complètement changé) et il proposera un monde gigantesque, en théorie pas moins de 30 millions de kilomètres carrés (soit une zone allant de la Scandinavie à l’Afrique du Nord, en passant par le Portugal, le Caucase et même le Moyen-orient), où aller fonder des cités et lever des armées. Oui, des armées qui semble-t-il auront un rôle important, et devraient ancrer le jeu plus du coté de la stratégie en temps réel (options 4X) que du city-builder. Difficile de savoir jusqu’à quel point pour l’instant (c’était d’ailleurs déjà un peu la formule adoptée par Grand Ages – Rome) vu que le teaser ne montre aucune image du gameplay et que les quatre premières captures d’écrans se limitent à un joli château et une petite ville.

La sortie de Grand Ages – Medieval étant prévue sur PC on ne sait quand en 2015, il faudra donc patienter encore un peu avant d’en apprendre plus. Sauf si d’autres révélations sont faites durant le salon de la Gamescom, ayant lieu actuellement en Allemagne.
