Military Operations : nouvelle bande-annonce

“Military Operations: Benchmark” Released on Steam

Netherlands – June 21th, 2018

This Benchmark application provides the first public preview of the engine used to develop the upcoming “Military Operations” WW2, Realtime Operational Wargame.

It features an unprecedented 50000 individual troops and up to 10000 units, deployed over an 30000 Km2 (12000 mi2) area.

Roam the globe, browse through the historical correct Order Of Battle, zoom in on the engaging French and German forces during the 1940 Blitzkrieg.

MilOps Benchmark
The benchmark can profile your system to determine its capability to run the MilOps Wargame. The resulting score is added to a Steam leader-board.

It also allows the user to freely roam the planet, zoom-in from orbit to ground-level and interact with units and troops.

MilOps Realtime Operational Wargame
MilOps is a daring new approach to strategy gaming. The emergent flow of thousands of individual units interacting, provides a unique gameplay experience.

The hierarchy based UI and command controls provide an intuitive interface that allows the player to draw orders directly in the 3D environment.

This recent blog post on our website reveals more details about MilOps the game.

The “Metis” simulation technology
The Metis engine was developed to enable efficient use of the GPU for simulation and gameplay purposes rather than graphics only.

Its application of the professional OpenCL GPU solution to implement an ECS (Entity Component System) based engine, allows flexible and efficient unlocking of the GPU’s power for generic processing and game logic. This enables huge amounts of fully simulated agents on average game systems.

“Military Operations”, the company
We are a independent game developer based in the Netherlands.

The company was specifically founded to develop the Military Operations Wargaming platform. Its mission is to approach WW2 from a simulation point of view with an emphasis on realism rather then visual splendour.

Its founders have a background in scientific simulations, the automotive and defense industries and game technology development.

“Military Operations: Benchmark” is out!

“Military Operations: Benchmark” is a free tool that can be used to test your system’s capability to run the upcoming “Military Operations” real-time operational wargame.

Besides the performance and stability tests, this application also provides the first opportunity for everybody to see the “Metis engine” at work.

Battle
Watch opposing forces engage each other. Follow orders being issued on the terrain while subordinates execute them. Zoom through the hierarchy to monitor the chain of command at work. Or descend into the battle to witness it from the troop’s perspective.

OOB
The featured Order Of Battle (OOB) depicts the situation on May 17th in northern France. A week into the notorious Fall-Gelb offensive that spawned the success of the German Blitzkrieg. Panzer-group Kleist has broken through the French lines and the French are trying to plug the gap with counter-attacks and the situation is very fluid.

Details
MilOps: Benchmark gives a peek under the Metis-hood. Interact with all 6K units and 50K troops in this OOB, inspect their state and see what each unit in the hierarchy consists of. All in great historically accurate detail.

Traverse
Navigate to any location on the globe with Western Europe available in higher detail. The 150 x 150 Km (93×93 mil) battle area is even more detailed with all roads and buildings present.

Help us with development
If you like what we’re doing, you can support us by sharing your Benchmark results. It is very simple, just install MilOps: Benchmark, launch it from the Steam-client in 1920×1080 on default visual settings and complete an entire benchmark run. That’s it, your score will end up on the leader-board automatically.
