Surviving the Aftermath : Rim-Mars ?

Paradox dévoile aujourd’hui ce qui sera la suite de la série Surviving, à savoir une déclinaison du précédent titre qui avait pris pour cadre la planète rouge, d’ailleurs joliment repeinte en vert et bleu avec la dernière extension, et qui semble-t-il va maintenant être repeinte en noir. La couleur de l’apocalypse ! Qui pourrait d’ailleurs aussi se dérouler sur une autre planète, car après tout il n’y a pas que Mars dans l’espace, mais il est encore trop tôt pour le savoir.

Si l’idée semble alléchante, tout au moins pour les amateurs du genre Postapo, ce teaser reste néanmoins très obscur. On peut pourquoi pas imaginer que les développeurs de Haenimont Games s’inspireront de la formule de l’excellent Rimworld (voir cet article) car même si les gameplay diffèrent sur certains aspects, le sympathique moteur de jeu de Surviving Mars pourrait probablement bien s’adapter. Mais ne prophétisons pas, nous verrons quand arrivera une vraie bande-annonce puis quand débutera la phase Accès anticipé, dans quelques mois.

Paradox Interactive Expands its Surviving Franchise with Surviving the Aftermath
Post-apocalyptic survival colony builder launching late 2020, more info to be revealed at PDXCON

STOCKHOLM – Oct 7, 2019 – Paradox Interactive today revealed Surviving the Aftermath, the next game in the publisher’s Surviving brand, will launch in late 2020 on Epic Games store, Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation® 4. Players who want to get in on the ground level will be able to purchase and play the game later this year in Early Access on the Epic Games store and Xbox Game Preview. Additional details about Surviving the Aftermath will be revealed on Saturday, October 19 during PDXCON 2019 in Berlin.

Surviving Mars, the survival colony builder developed by Haemimont Games and the first game in the Surviving brand, has experienced record growth in 2019. Since the Green Planet expansion launched in May, Surviving Mars saw eight times the amount of monthly active players, surpassing its launch player peak by 19 percent.

“With the staggering growth of Surviving Mars this year we knew we had something special and we wanted to find new ways to utilize survival management gameplay,” Nikhat Ali, Lead Producer on Surviving the Aftermath and Surviving Mars at Paradox Interactive, said. “Surviving the Aftermath gives us the opportunity to experiment with these mechanics in new and interesting ways that we think our players will love.”

To introduce Paradox’s Surviving game lineup to more players, Surviving Mars and all of its DLC are heading to the Epic Games store on October 10. Kicking off as part of Epic’s Free Games Program, the Surviving Mars base game and Space Race DLC will be free to download from Thursday, October 10 – Thursday, October 17. After the free period, the game will be available to purchase for suggested retail price $29.99.

To commemorate the game’s growth and launch on Epic Games store, Surviving Mars is having a modding contest where modders can create new animals for the Project Laika expansion and win prizes.
