Voici un bon point supplémentaire pour le très réussi troisième volet de la série Jagged Alliance. Une démo vient en effet d’être mise en ligne, permettant d’essayer le jeu au niveau de la région de départ, l’île d’Ernie. Vous avez ainsi accès à six secteurs, à différents types de missions et entre autres à plusieurs PNJ, de quoi avoir une très bonne idée du potentiel du jeu. Si en début de partie les choix sont bien entendus limités (en un sens l’île d’Ernie est un long tutoriel permettant d’essayer un peu tout), dès que vos mercenaires débarquent sur le continent, les choix offerts au joueur se multiplient très vite.
Au passage sachez qu’un premier petit patch 1.02 est venu il y a une semaine améliorer un peu plus le jeu (voir le changelog ci-après). Par exemple le revenu des mines de diamants diminuera moins vite. D’autres patchs sont prévus ultérieurement (une feuille de route doit être annoncée dans quelques temps).
Le jeu n’est certes pas exempt de défauts, particulièrement du fait de certains aspects parfois trop aléatoires (très gênant pour le choix limité des munitions), ou de certains mécanismes du gameplay, ou encore de divers bugs et manque d’optimisation (le moteur graphique offre un très joli rendu, mais peut s’avérer par moment assez gourmand en ressources). Néanmoins, malgré cela, Jagged Alliance 3 est un superbe bac à sable vidéoludique, offrant une grande liberté aux joueurs. Et une bonne dose d’humour en prime.
Si certains aspects actuels du gameplay sont en effet discutables, de nombreux mods sont d’ores et déjà disponibles. Voyez cette section du workshop de Steam ou cette section chez Nexus Mods. En attendant les premiers outils de modification officiels, et les rééquilibrages des futurs patchs, les plus de 200 mods déjà sortis permettent d’ajuster certaines limites du jeu.

First Patch 1.02 released!

we have launched our first small patch 1.02, exactly one week after game launch.
There are also more & bigger patches on the horizon, but we wanted to get this one out to you as soon as possible.Here is the changelog of Patch 1.02:
Highlights:
Economy: Mines will drop income much slower when they begin to deplete
On combat end, interactables are now automatically highlighted, and toggle state (on/off) is now persisted across maps.
Zooming is now possible in overview mode.
Hand-to-hand specialization can now be used while merc is unarmed
Fixed issue where no mercenaries are available for hire & AIM database would be empty.
Fixed issue where free move APs could be used for an attack.
Fixed issue where music and some other sounds would play in mono instead of stereo.
Fixed giving ammo from one squad to another.
