Paradox crée Tinto et convole avec Playrion

Après avoir fondé un studio en Espagne au début du mois de juin, studio nommé Paradox Tinto et qui oeuvrera sur le développement de jeux de grande stratégie, voici que le fameux éditeur suédois annonce aujourd’hui avoir fait l’acquisition du studio parisien Playrion. Les développeurs de Airlines Manager rejoignent ainsi le giron de Paradox Interactive en tant que huitième studio interne.

Airlines Manager est à l’origine un projet d’étudiant, jeu de gestion par navigateur qui depuis son lancement en 2014 sur mobiles a a priori passé le cap des 10 millions de voyageurs joueurs.

Paradox Interactive Acquires Paris-based Playrion Game Studio
Developer of Airlines Manager Joins International Publisher’s Family of Studios

STOCKHOLM and PARIS – July 2, 2020 – Paradox Interactive, a publisher and developer of games that are really taking off, today announced the acquisition of Playrion Game Studio, a mobile-focused developer based in Paris. Playrion Game Studio, founded in 2010 to support the development of Airlines Manager, joins Paradox Interactive as its eighth internal studio.

Airlines Manager, originally a student project and browser-based management game, has become an impressive success, with more than 10 million players since its release on mobile platforms in 2014. The title’s deep and complex management gameplay fits Paradox’s portfolio perfectly. To celebrate the title joining Paradox’s roster of games, players can get a free celebratory unique plane, to the colors of Paradox Interactive in-game.

Paradox Interactive Founds New Studio in Barcelona
Paradox Tinto will Focus on Development of Classic Grand Strategy Games

STOCKHOLM – June 1, 2020 – Paradox Interactive, a publisher and developer of games that age well, today announced the opening of Paradox Tinto, a new development studio to be located in Barcelona. This is the seventh studio operated by Paradox Interactive, now present in four countries.

Paradox Tinto will start operations in Barcelona in the immediate future under the direction of studio lead Johan Andersson, 25+ year veteran of Paradox Development Studio and original creator of the Europa Universalis video game franchise. Andersson will assemble a small core team to initially oversee ongoing development on Paradox’s iconic grand strategy game, Europa Universalis IV, and later move on to new games in the grand strategy genre.
