Matrix Games and Black Hand Studios (www.blackhandstudios.com) are excited to announce the release of the new updated official Panzer Command: Ostfront demo, along with a comprehensive update to bring the 3D turn-based WEGO tactical strategy game to tip-top fighting order. The v2.0.329f update brings new features and improvements to overall gameplay, as well as fixes and improvements to in-game models.

In addition, to celebrate the release of this new update and demo and to give players who haven’t tried Panzer Command an easy way to buy in, Panzer Command: Ostfront will be on sale for almost 50% off at a new price of $17.99 for the download version instead of the regular $34.99 price!  This sale will run for just over a month, ending on August 15th.  There has never been a better time to try and buy Panzer Command: Ostfront and the price may never be this low again!

Just in time for the anniversary of the Battle of Kursk, this update comes equipped with improved Random Battle and Random Campaign generators, giving players more options to customize how they want their random battles or campaigns to be generated. Players will have an extensive list of options at their fingertips, ranging from designing their own core force for random campaigns to controlling whether or not the Russian side uses Science of War or Art of War as a doctrine and how important objectives victory points are versus casualties.  The combination of these improvements opens up a whole new horizon of possibilities and gives Panzer Command one of its key strengths – almost infinite replayability.

The update also makes numerous adjustments and fixes to the models in-game to ensure authentic and historical accuracy. Bugs such as occasional retreat and rally issues and air support incorrectly prioritizing targets have been crushed, as well as several others to give players a better gameplay experience.

For those on the fence in getting Panzer Command: Ostfront, a demo is available to give players a small taste of the action. The demo contains the tutorial to get players on their feet, as well as Novyy Rizadey, a fictional October ’44 scenario to test their training.

About Panzer Command: Ostfront

Many say that World War II was decided on the Eastern Front.  From the initial Blitzkrieg in the Summer of 1941 through the final battles for Berlin in 1945, this was a land war that dwarfed all others in its scale and brutality.  Through countless small skirmishes and large operations involving multiple armies, with increasingly deadly and advanced weaponry, the Wehrmacht and Red Army were locked in a fight for national survival that consumed a generation of soldiers and left half a continent in ruins.

Experience the Panzer Command series of tactical wargames.  In Panzer Command: Ostfront, you are a company-level commander on either the Soviet or German side, fighting on the Eastern Front.  Preserve your men and defeat the enemy, there is no other way!  Panzer Command: Ostfront is the latest in a series of 3D turn-based tactical wargames which include single battles, multi-battle operations and full war campaigns with realistic units, tactics and terrain and an informative and practical interface.

Each decision you make as a commander must be weighed carefully.  You will find that the gameplay is balanced to reward historically successful tactics while the AI will punish rash choices.  The victory system for scenarios and campaigns rewards multiple strategies and evaluates your performance and rank after each battle.
